# Policies

A policy is a way of securing access to your app. The **Policies** allow you to set permissions for the users to access your App and its essentials (Screens, Data, Microsites, etc.). These policies are bound to the roles, which means the users with those roles can have access according to the policies assigned to them.

A default policy called "Administrator" is available by default, with access to all modules and features, making it ideal for setting initial access permissions.

To create a policy.

* Click **Create new policy** under **Policies**.
* Give the policy a unique name and provide a brief description of it.
* Select the Resource type (engine), and the platform displays the resources available in it. Then, select the resources a user can access with a role that has this policy.

Here are all the policies you’ve created. You can

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.reasy.ai/help/getting-started/engines/user-management/policies.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
